Letter: Don't paint all teen pregnancy case with same brush
7/7/2012 1:03:00 PM
Editor:
My wife and my mother both experienced teen pregnancies with few of the negative factors discussed in your front page article, "TOPS reaching out to pregnant teens in AZ."
They both had something not mentioned in the article: A husband, and consequently adequate medical attention and personal support.
Please do not paint everyone in a very large group with the same brush trying to whitewash a relative few. It is my firm belief that education is the answer to most problems people experience, and that includes teen pregnancy, married or not, and as such should begin before children are old enough for the girl to become pregnant.
